The Tigers have teams at under 17, under 15and under 13. The two
youngest teams play in the North East Rugby League and the under 17 side \plays
in the Yorkshire Youth League.
We will be starting an under 11 team very
soon and we will get girl's Rugby League going in September.
We are a
community club which welcomes everyone to join us. You can expect a very warm
welcome to the Rugby League Family. You do not need to have played the game
before all you need is enthusiasm and the willingness to learn new
skills
In the short time we have been going we have made huge steps
forward. Lots of our players have gone on to play for Durham County and for the
North East. we have also built up a team of willing volunteers who provide
excellent support as do our committed and generous sponsors.
We also have
Sports England "Clubmark" accreditation which means that we meet all the
criteria to provide a safe and caring environment for young people. We enjoy
generous support from a wide variety of groups including the Co. Durham
Foundation, Awards for All, Sports England Bishop Auckland Town Council, Wear
Valley District Council and now Durham County.
All this has lead to our
rapid growth based upon Rugby League principles of hard work, honesty and
integrity.
The Club orgnises social events, presentation
nights, sportsmen's dinners etc to promote fund raising and wide participation.
We organise trips to major Rugby League events such as the Four Nations and the
Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford.
The Club welcomes newcomers. We
train on Wednesday nights with the under 12s starting at 5-30pm and the under
14s at 6-30pm. The under 16 side trains on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7pm. At the
moment we are training at Bishop Auckland Rugby Club at West Mills P)laying
Fields although this is soon to change.
